As we continue to combat the Covid Pandemic, more and more people are turning to healthy alternatives to keep their immune systems stronger, and loose leaf teas are on the rise because they contain so many health benefits.

Most people have not yet adapted to the taste of green teas, but the truth is green teas are filled with health benefits and a variety of flavor profiles, that even a non-tea drinker can discover at least one which they can enjoy. However, the main caveat of consuming green tea is the many health benefits in every cup. Being a part of the loose leaf tea community for many years, I have had the joy of introducing many newcomers to the loose leaf tea world. And, while tea consumption is second in the world to drinking water, many have not yet discovered this incredibly healthy beverage.
The 3 reasons you should drink loose leaf teas...
Diabetes is something that our society is plagued with more than ever today. There is some evidence showing that drinking green tea can actually prevent diabetes.
One study found that Japanese adults who drank more than six cups of green tea a day had a much lower risk (33 percent) of developing type 2 diabetes than those who drank a cup or less a day.
There are many more health benefits to consuming loose leaf teas, too many to mention; this is why Yoteas has embarked on a mission to help individuals 'cultivate, healthy conscious living, one brew, one sip at a time.' What is the Green Tea craze all about??? For centuries, all tea was considered green tea. But, green tea is purely and simply the leaves of the Camellia Sinensis plant, which all teas originate, and once it's steeped in hot water...you have your delicious cup of healthiness. There was a time when Green tea leaves did not go through the oxidation process so it was tea in its most natural form. This version of the green tea leaf is still enjoyed around the world today as are many other versions of the same tea leaf. However, over centuries, there were different forms of green tea introduced as the world unfolded in its discovery of the tea leaf. Oolong and black teas were created much later after green tea's discovery.
Note: black tea is a fermented version of green tea and Oolong is semi-fermented.
The Western world is still trying to understand the variations of green tea because they are lovers of black teas...On the other hand, the Eastern part of the world are still lovers of the amazing variety of green tea flavors...
Although more research is needed, medical news today states, recent studies have shown green tea can potentially have positive effects on everything from weight loss to liver disorders, type 2 diabetes, and Alzheimer's disease. Don't take this cup of Green beverage lightly...There's more beyond your brewed cup of loose leaf tea!!!

There are many different kinds of teas, however, almost all teas have nutritional and health benefits. Most tea drinkers consider Green Tea to be the healthiest, but all teas contain health benefits and antioxidants. The antioxidants found in teas are called catechins, and catechins, like all antioxidants battle free radicals and repair, damaged cells within our bodies. When we consume tea on a daily basis it promotes healthy results; research has also proven that tea can prevent cancer and other physical ailments.
In addition, when loose leaf tea is combined with various fruit, there are even more natural health benefits. Tea blends smoothly with the fruit components creating a drink which is mild yet flavorful, full of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. There are precious few beverages which can claim to refresh your thirst, boost your vitamin intake, give you energy and fight cancer in a single serving.
Although tea is an ancient beverage, the health benefits are endless. It's likely the health benefits of consuming tea are even more valuable now than they were centuries ago. After being consumed for more than four thousand years, tea has changed very little - until now. It's been served hot, it's been served cold. But now tea is being served in a style that suits the most frantic lifestyle - you can get it to go, whether you brew it at home or purchase it in a tea shop or grocery store. You can brew your tea at home and place it in a hot/cold tea tumbler and enjoy it throughout your day. However, when purchasing tea that's already bottled, ensure that you check the sugar content...

It's time to forget the crash diets. This new year, let’s focus on deep nourishment, grounding rituals, and the gentle power of plants to build a healthier you from the inside out.
The calendar has flipped. The holiday decorations are coming down, and the inevitable noise of "New Year, New You" is getting louder. We are bombarded with messages to restrict, to cleanse intensely, and to punish our bodies for the joys of the holiday season.
But what if this year, we tried something different?
What if instead of asking your body to do more with less, you offered it deep nourishment? What if your resolution wasn't about deprivation, but about adding in ancient allies that support your body's natural intelligence?
Enter the world of herbalism. For thousands of years, humans have relied on plants not just to survive, but to thrive. Herbs offer a sustainable, gentle, and profoundly effective way to reset your system for the New Year.
Here is a guide to three essential herbal categories to help you ground, protect, and renew yourself as we step into this new chapter.
After weeks of rich foods, sugar, and celebratory toasts, our digestive systems and livers often feel sluggish. Instead of a harsh, strip-mining "detox," we want to gently support the organs responsible for our natural filtration processes.
The Star Herb: Dandelion Root (Taraxacum officinale)
Don't mistake this common "weed" for a nuisance; it is a powerhouse of wellness. Dandelion root is a bitter tonic that stimulates digestion and gently encourages the liver and gallbladder to do their best work. It’s the perfect antidote to holiday heaviness.
How to use it: Roasted Dandelion root makes a fantastic, robust tea that tastes surprisingly similar to coffee. Enjoy a warm mug in the morning to wake up your digestive tract.
January isn't just the start of a new year; it's also deep winter in many parts of the world. You can't crush your goals if you're stuck in bed with a cold. Building a resilient immune system is foundational to a healthy year.
The Star Herb: Elderberry (Sambucus nigra)
Elderberries have become famous for good reason. They are packed with antioxidants and vitamins that may boost your immune system. They are traditionally used at the very first sign of feeling "under the weather" to shorten the duration of colds.
How to use it: Elderberry syrup is delicious and easy to take daily during the winter months. You can also find dried elderberries to brew into a fruity, warming tea (often combined with warming spices like cinnamon and ginger).
The pressure to perform in the New Year can be overwhelming, leading to anxiety and "January Blues." We need herbs that act as a nervous system buffer, helping us stay calm, centered, and focused on our intentions.
The Star Herb: Lemon Balm (Melissa officinalis)
This member of the mint family is like sunshine in plant form. It is incredibly uplifting to the spirits while simultaneously being calming to the nervous system. It helps quiet a racing mind without making you sleepy, making it perfect for daytime focus.
How to use it: Lemon Balm makes a light, refreshing herbal infusion. It is also excellent taken as a tincture right before a stressful meeting or when you feel overwhelm creeping in.
Incorporating herbs doesn't have to be complicated. Start small:
The Daily Ritual: Replace one cup of coffee with a Dandelion root tea.
The Evening Wind-Down: Sip on Lemon Balm tea while journaling your intentions for the year instead of scrolling through your phone.
Listen to Your Body: Notice how these plants make you feel. Herbalism is intuitive.
This New Year, let's plant seeds of wellness that will grow steadily throughout the year. Here’s to a rooted, resilient, and radiant you.
